Bio:
Denise Aronson is the founder and president of Safety Partners, Inc., which provides hands-on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) services and training to New England’s expanding life sciences industry. Ms. Aronson leveraged 10 years of bench science biochemistry research experience with her lab management and lab safety experience to launch Safety Partners in 1992. Under her leadership, Safety Partners has clocked over 100,000 hours at over 120 New England life sciences and high-tech companies. Safety Partners’ team of employees has grown to 20 EHS professionals who provide safety program implementation to clients for biological, chemical, and radiation safety; ergonomics; emergency preparedness; animal care and use; regulatory compliance; and more.
Ms. Aronson takes great pride that in 2007 Safety Partners was awarded one of the 25 Best Small Companies by Working Mother magazine. It is an important achievement because it recognizes her vision to create a company that hires working parents and caters their work schedule to encourage work/life balance. The company also provides excellent opportunities to mid- and late-career scientists and safety professionals, who want to remain active in the life sciences field, yet wish for an alternative career path.
Ms. Aronson is a certified chemical hygiene officer through the National Registry of Certified Chemists. She is a member of MassBio, the North Shore Technology Council’s biomedical section and a founding member of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Life Sciences Leads Group and the New Hampshire BioMedical Council Leads Group. She is also active with the WEST, HBA, WPI Venture Forum, New Hampshire Biotech Council, and Merrimack Valley Venture Forum.
Additionally, Ms. Aronson is a member of many professional societies, including the American Biological Safety Association, American Chemical Society, American Industrial Hygiene Association, New England Chapter of the Health Physics Society, International Facilities Management Association, American Society of Safety Engineers, and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, and New England Scientific Manufacturers Association. She regularly contributes articles for the New Hampshire BioMedical Council’s Catalyst newsletter and the International Facilities Management Association R&D Council.
Ms. Aronson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire. She began her career as a research associate at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in Boston. After her tenure of laboratory research, she managed a clinical prenatal diagnostics laboratory. From there, Ms. Aronson joined T Cell Sciences as its environmental, health, and safety manager to develop, manage, and implement its comprehensive environmental, health and safety program.
